THE BANKING CHALLENGE

What technology challenges do banks face today?

As banks grow, customer information moves through branches, onboarding journeys, document repositories and outside providers. We help teams bring better control to those records without losing sight of the everyday banking work that depends on them.

Old documents can hold unmasked sensitive data

Finding Aadhaar numbers and other personal information across large repositories is rarely a small job.

Consent records are scattered across channels

It can be hard to show what customers agreed to, when they agreed and which systems use that data.

Digital journeys still depend on manual checks

Verification delays and disconnected vendors make onboarding slower and governance harder.

Banking compliance team reviewing customer data and governance controls — Better oversight starts with knowing how customer data moves through your bank.

Technology helps create stronger controls. Your compliance team still determines which obligations apply.

RBI & DPDP READINESS

RBI and DPDP compliance technology for banks

For banks in India, RBI expectations and the DPDP framework shape how customer data is collected, stored, shared and protected. HabileLabs supports KYC controls, outsourcing oversight and IT governance through access safeguards, document handling, audit trails and resilient cloud architecture.

Know what data you holdMap sensitive information across applications, cloud environments and historical documents.

Keep usable records of customer choicesImprove how notices, permissions and related evidence are captured within banking workflows.

Restrict access and preserve evidenceSupport defined permissions, event records and reviewable document histories.

Review third-party connectionsUnderstand how lending, identity and service partners exchange or handle customer data.

Implementation supports readiness and does not itself guarantee legal or regulatory compliance. DPDP obligations have phased commencement; verify applicable provisions with counsel.

BANKING FAQS

Banking technology FAQs

A few practical answers before you plan the next project.

What should banks prioritize for DPDP readiness?

Start by understanding where personal data lives, why it is used, who receives it and what supporting records exist. Then review notices, relevant consent processes, safeguards, retention practices and request-handling procedures. The exact legal obligations and commencement dates need review by your compliance team.

Can digital KYC connect with an existing core banking system?

Usually, the approach is to add verification and onboarding workflows through secure APIs. Integration requirements depend on your core banking software, security architecture and approval processes.

How can banks handle Aadhaar masking in historical records?

Documents can be classified to identify Aadhaar-containing files, then processed through masking and validation workflows. For sensitive environments, processing can be designed to remain within a bank's own infrastructure.

Can HabileLabs support both banking products and IT services?

Yes. FinHub, DocuSwift, Ozoo.ai, Learnify and Refine address different needs, while HabileLabs teams provide system integration, cloud infrastructure, data engineering and ongoing operations.

Does deploying a product make a bank DPDP compliant?

No single product guarantees compliance. Technology can support controls and documentation, while the bank's legal, risk and compliance teams must determine the applicable duties and assess the complete operating model.
